About Bay Roan Mustang Mares:
American Mustangs are descendants of Spanish horses brought to the Americas in the 16th century, and they roam free across the western United States. Bay roan is a beautiful and distinctive color featuring a bay (reddish-brown) base coat with white hairs evenly mixed throughout the body, creating a unique mottled appearance. The head, mane, tail, and lower legs typically remain the darker bay color. Mustang mares are the backbone of wild horse bands, known for their intelligence, sure-footedness, and incredible endurance developed from surviving in harsh desert and mountain terrain. They typically stand 14-15 hands high and are incredibly hardy, able to survive on sparse vegetation and limited water. Mustang mares are protective mothers and strong leaders within their bands. When domesticated, mustangs make excellent trail horses, endurance mounts, and ranch horses due to their toughness and intelligence. They're living symbols of American freedom and the Wild West!
